Role & Context

As UI/UX Strategist & Frontend Engineer, I led the design and implementation of The GKT Web analytics dashboard. The objective was to create a "command center" for users that provided deep insights without the cognitive overload typical of enterprise software.

The Challenge

Many SaaS dashboards suffer from "data vomit"—presenting too much information at once, which leads to user fatigue. Our internal testing showed that users were taking an average of 45 seconds to find key performance metrics, which was unacceptable for a high-speed analytics platform.

Our Approach

I applied a "progressive disclosure" design philosophy:

• Focused Visual Hierarchy: I restructured the layout to prioritize high-level KPIs at the top, with the ability to drill down into detailed charts only when needed.
• Custom Data Visualization: Built a suite of custom React components using D3.js and Recharts, ensuring that data was not just visible, but interpretable at a glance.
• Micro-Interactions: Implemented subtle hover states and transitions to provide immediate feedback, making the interface feel responsive and "alive."

Results & Impact

The redesign had a direct impact on user productivity and platform stickiness:

• 25% Reduction in Task Time: Users were able to locate and interpret key metrics significantly faster than before.
• 15% Increase in Retention: The improved user experience led to higher daily active usage (DAU) as the platform became a daily habit for the users.
• Highly Commended on Dribbble: The design was featured in several "Top Dashboards" collections, proving its aesthetic and functional appeal.
