Role & Context

As Full-Stack Engineer, I architected the core platform with a heavy emphasis on trust and safety. The goal was to build a service that facilitates real-world companionship for travel, social events, and safety, while strictly distancing the platform from traditional dating apps.

The Challenge

The primary hurdle was establishing trust in a peer-to-peer companion market. Users needed absolute certainty about the identity and intent of both companions and seekers. Additionally, the platform required a robust scheduling and payment system that could handle real-time bookings across different regions.

Our Approach

I implemented a security-first architecture:

• ID Verification Pipeline: Integrated high-standard identity verification to ensure all users are verified before they can book or list services.
• Role-Based Utility Design: Developed a structured role system (Exploration, Social Support, Events) to clarify the utility-based nature of the platform.
• Next.js Scalability: Leveraged Next.js App Router for a high-performance, SEO-optimized frontend that ensures fast discovery and smooth booking flows.
